Komodo Island

Komodo is one of the 17,508 islands that compose the Republic of Indonesia. The island is particularly notable as the habitat of the Komodo dragon, the largest lizard on Earth, which is named for the island. Komodo Island has a surface area of 390 square kilometres and a human population of over two thousand. Komodo is part of the Lesser Sunda chain of islands and forms part of the Komodo National Park. In addition, the island is a popular destination for diving. Administratively, it is part of the East Nusa Tenggara province.

The most interesting part of this island is the Komodo. We can find the komodo at Rinca Island and Gili Montang. In this island the total of the komodo its about 2500. Other that, there are 277 species of animal which is a mix of animals from Asia and Australia, which consists of 32 species of mammals, 128 species of birds, and 37 species of reptiles .



Pink Island
Komodo island contains a beach with "pink" sand. The sand appears pink because it is a mixture of white sand combined with red sand, formed from pieces of Foraminifera. We can snorkeling and diving there.



Interesting attraction at Komodo Island:
1. Loh liang in Komodo Island
Loh liang is the entrance and the main tourist area on the Komodo island. We can find komodo there and we can snorkelling, diving, photo hunting there.



2. Loh Buaya in Rinca Island
Loh Buaya is a center of tourist area on the island of Rinca. Visitors can see the mangroves, savannas and wildlife for example dragons, Timor deer, wild buffalo, long-tailed monkeys, wild horses and a variety of birds. Activities offered to visitors at Loh Buaya include observation of wildlife , exploration (Loh Buaya - Wae Waso,Loh Buaya - Golo Code), photo hunting, shooting video, observation of bats in Kalong Island (front Kampung Rinca) and observations stone beams Rinca village. From the top of the hill known as Golo Code , visitors can see a panorama and a landscape that is quite fantastic because the representation of various types of ecosystems can be seen from this place.

3. Padar Island
Padar island is a small island located between the komodo and Rica island. Padar has a very beautiful beach for diving and snorkelling.
